Medina Marching Band IW is a fun and inclusive marching band for people ages 8 years + and all abilities. We provide a safe and supportive environment for our members to excel, and our goal is to make music accessible to everyone. From performances local, and off island, events to our annual concerts, we strive to bring entertainment and joy to our audience.
We offer a variety of classes and activities, from beginner classes to advanced instruction. Whether you’re looking to join a band or just to have fun, we have something for everyone. The band is primarily made up of young people with various levels of musical knowledge and ability. The band caters for total beginners, intermediates and more experienced players alike who desire the opportunity to play a traditional musical instrument with like minded individuals in a traditional setting. Getting involved in Medina Marching Band could not be easier, either ask a band member or a supporter at a live event, or simply just make contact using the link below.

Q: Where do you rehearse?
A: We meet at Christ The King College, Wellington Rd, Newport, Isle of Wight, every Monday and Wednesday between 7pm and 9pm with a short break for refreshments.
We also have a training band rehearsal at Nine Acres Primary School, South View, Newport, PO30 1QP, every Sunday Morning at between 10am & 11am, for anyone wanting to see what we are about before coming to the main rehearsals on a Monday and/or Wednesday evening. This session is dedicated to give you a more personal 1-2-1 hour to assist and perfect your musical skill and technique along side with marching drill practise as well.

Q: What do you do in your rehearsals?
A: In readiness for the various carnivals, parades and events we take part in, our meetings consist of drill out on the parade ground, 1-2-1 and sectional tuition in dedicated classrooms with full band, and Corps of Drum rehearsals.

Or if you want to try our training band Rehearsals first, your more than welcome to come and join us on a Sunday Morning from 10am at Nine Acres Primary.

Q: How old can I be to join?
A: Medina Marching Band has band members with ages starting from as young as 8 years old and without any upper age limit all are welcome.
Q: How much does it cost?
A: All this including Instrument, uniform, and more for only £50 per year 'Membership Subscription'
